"Science, science is sometimes distrusted because it is, it is more complex than the average person can understand. I think that is the core of it, the distrust is not because of what it can do but because of what it because people don't understand how it does what it can do. And that .. that absence of understanding or misunderstanding of the power of science is what makes people afraid of it." This quote really "struck" me because of what Neil is trying to really say. Most people doubt science because they're scared of what really is happening. And that's why you have people making up completely random and nonsensical theories, for comfort. Maybe for fame but you know mainly because the truth is a little too much to handle or they just don't like what they're hearing so they want to make up something ideal. It makes me think about how afraid people are. That fear might lead to ignorance and people cooking up wild things in their mind and saying they know what's up when really they're just making things up because they don't wanna believe the truth. Ignorance is not bliss haha. Maybe in some cases but you know. I chose this quote because I think its relevant to other things and situations not just science. Also it just kind of really got me thinking about desperate in a way people are.
